Technology
The dashboard is implemented as an Adobe Flex application, which connects to web services running in your local network where they can see the target database. Users view the Flex application using a browser (IE/Firefox/Opera/Chrome/Safari) with Flash player installed. The web services are implemented using Java, and they have their own local data repository. We have an installer that will set this up for you on a Windows machine.

For embedding you have a few options. The easiest way is to just call the dashboard URL from a browser. If your application is web based, simply navigate to the dashboard URL. If your application is a GUI, then open up a browser window with the dashboard inside. It is also possible to brand and style the dashboard so it more closely fits in with your existing look and feel. Single charts can also be easily embedded as part of other web pages – these will be live charts, always showing the latest data at the time the page is opened.
The dashboard is browser-based for easy deployment and cross-platform compatibility and enables users to connect in real-time to numerous databases including Oracle, SQL Server, Sybase, Ingres, Informix, DB/2, Postgres, MySQL and MS Access and any other JDBC or ODBC compliant database.
