Greta Matulionyte began her journey with us as a trainee developer early in 2021. Here’s what she has to say -
“I started my journey in technology 5 months ago when I joined Panintelligence as a Trainee Developer and I’ve never looked back!
With being so new in the industry, continuous learning is key and I feel that the business has been excellent in providing me with the opportunity to grow and expand my skillset on a daily basis. Over the last couple of months, I spent a lot of time shadowing other developers, pair programming with my peers, attending various tech shares and even a book club!
It has helped me tremendously grow my confidence and gain a better knowledge of the product and the best practices followed within the industry. Even though I am still very really in my journey, I am very proud of being able to contribute to the enhancement of the Panintelligence product by developing new features which are due to come out very shortly!”
Leah Woodhead. You might have seen her in a previous Inside Pi and International Women’s Day feature, where she told us all her great hints and tips for becoming a woman in tech. Like Greta, Leah has been working since early 2021 as a Trainee Develop:
“I am relatively new to the tech industry, so every day at Panintelligence has been an opportunity to learn and develop my skills while contributing to a meaningful product.
Since starting, I have been exposed to new concepts, programming languages, and frameworks. I am given time to understand the code and explore ideas while working on projects or fixes, which has been a really good way to learn. It has been great to have a hands-on experience, have the ability to work collaboratively, and see the work come to life! Everyone in the team is always willing to help and explain things, which has made the learning process so much better!
Since this is my first role since graduating, I have also learned so much about ways of working. We work in sprints, and it has been great to learn about how tasks are formed and prioritised each month. I learn something new every day, both tech related and company related. I have achieved a lot more than I thought I would in four months. I have recently completed a paired project which involved adding the ability to export our charts to PowerPoint. It was challenging to implement but super rewarding to see it come together and receive positive feedback. I never thought I'd be delivering entire features so soon!”
